Carrot soup advice : AskCulinary
I’m going to be creating a carrot soup, the fundamental recipe for which comes from a cookbook. The base substances are veg inventory, carrots, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and honey. I’m omitting every other substances (most commonly as a result of I would not have them): ginger, OJ, blanched almonds, and white potatoes.
I’m searching for concepts to “elevate” this dish, “kick it up a notch,” or whichever different culinary cliche you favor. I’m considering of including walnuts, a little of shredded coconut, and cumin. I’m questioning whether or not those further substances would all play neatly in combination. Are coconut and cumin a excellent pairing (I do know that cumin itself works rather well with carrots)? I would not have a lot shredded coconut so as to add, and so its taste might be delicate at highest. Is incorporating walnuts a good suggestion, and if this is the case any concepts on how I will have to do this? Add them complete to the soup and puree them with the whole thing else with the immersion blender? Toast them and upload them as a garnish simplest?
