What is the history of, and uses for Beau Monde seasoning? : AskCulinary
Many years in the past, I had a scoutmaster who would make his Beau Monde Bread: an extended loaf with part cuts each part inch filled with butter, sprinkled in Beau Monde, and slathered in some mix of mustard and mayo perhaps? Baked in the oven and glorious. Probably horrible for you, however excellent.
At the retailer some time again, I noticed the bottles of Beau Monde and picked one up. Wasn’t certain what to make with it, till I threw it on some potatoes this night. Really excellent, and a special taste than perhaps I used to be anticipating.
Looking on-line, I will’t to find a lot details about it, except for “no one knows its history”. So I’ve two questions:
What is it’s history?
What recipes do you employ this in?
